Boy Called ChristmasYou are about to read the true story of Father Christmas. It is a story that proves that nothing is impossible. A Boy Called Christmas is a tale of adventure, snow, kidnapping, elves, more snow, and a boy called Nikolas, who isn’t afraid to believe in magic.

A highly engaging and entertaining story about nine year old Nikolas who when left with his Aunt while his Dad goes in search of work decides to escape her regime of no food, sleeping outside and heads off to find his Dad.
He runs away by flying across the forests towards the north on the back of his friend and reindeer, Blitzen until they reach Elfhelm where he is captured, lock in prison by elves. There are some wonderful passages as he argues with the King Elves, wrestle with the Truth Prixie, none more so when he is in trouble with Father Topo who says “good news doesn’t sell newspapers”!

Its a story about being different and being accepted, about love and loss, about accepting people as they are and that being kind and generous is good and most importantly it is the story of how Father Christmas came to be and when you are 6 or 7 this is most important., particularly in December.

A Boy Called Christmas is a brilliant book to read as a bed time read during December. The chapters are reasonably short and with not too much excitement to keep everyone awake after 9pm.
